One day while Ruben and his sister Laura were playing in a barn some locals burnt the barn down with the kids still inside. This rich family was apparently buying up all the land in some rural area. Ruben (aka Ruvik, no idea why the name change) belonged to a very rich family. I believe he is a friend of Ruben's father.
The scientist is the same scientist from the beginning of the game. One day he was visited by a scientist who shown interest in his work. He had an infatuation with the human brain and wanted to learn more about it.
